The State Government of Perlis aims to transform Perlis into a developed and industrialised state by 2030, with a focus on green manufacturing, halal manufacturing, energy efficient vehicle (EEVs) and renewable energy generation (solar).  The strategic move to develop Chuping Valley Industrial Area (CVIA), backed by Federal support, would contribute to materializing this vision.

CVIA is located at the north east of Perlis, in Chuping, and a mere six (6) kilometres from the Padang Besar - Padangbezar, Thailand border. The development of 2,468 acres industrial and commercial plots is projected to boost the development of the area.

Phase 1 of CVIA consists of 440 acres, and the infra development for Phase 1 has been completed in 2024.  It is now ready to accept investors.

The development of infra for Phase 2 CVIA shall commence once Phase 1 occupancy reaches 80%.
